  • POEM: A Daughter Deflowered by Linda Marie Van Tassell (3/17/2008 7:54:00 AM)

This is a beautiful poem (despite the horror of its subject) . It portrays not only what was done (in a lovely graven meter) , but also the way the narrator feels-and perhaps-remembers it. It's quite amazing: Neither the 'he' nor the 'she' of the poem are labeled, but both are unforgettably described. This poem is both subtle and brazen-an admirable accomplishment.-Bryan Taplits

  • POEM: April -- North Carolina by Harriet Monroe (7/17/2006 11:16:00 AM)

I was looking for my poem, and entered 'North Carolina'. I saw there was another poem about North Carolina. I decided to read it, and I'm glad I made the visit. It's a beautiful poem.
    Thank you for posting it.

  • POEM: Believe Me, If All Those Endearing Young Charms by Thomas Moore (10/12/2005 1:03:00 AM)

I can't believe no one has commented on this poem. I've read many poems and in my opinion this is about the very best I've ever read. Moore says everything about love, new love, and fading love that is worthwhile saying- and he says it beautifully, vibrantly and memorably in 2 stanzas! Amazing! !
