    • POEM: As I Watche'D The Ploughman Ploughing by Walt Whitman (12/15/2005 10:11:00 AM)

I liked this poem because so many other poets have compared life and death to something in nature, but here I see something deeper. He's comparing life and death to the fields growing their crops, but its only by the will of a man that they are put there, and it is only by the will of a man that they are taken away.

    • POEM: All Is Truth by Walt Whitman (12/9/2005 11:09:00 AM)

Someone once told me that one does not lie, but tells alterations of reality to suit different truths. This poem seems to embrace the idea as everything being true in the eyes of the person who beleives in it. It brings on a new perspective to the 'facts' of life and existence.

    • POEM: A Woman Waits For Me by Walt Whitman (12/9/2005 11:01:00 AM)

I loved this poem because it describes the physical act of sex on so many different levels that I've never thought of before. It takes a simple, almost instinctual act and ties into it the beginning of existence and all the ecstacy in life.
