    • POEM: When I Have Fears by John Keats (2/19/2009 4:07:00 AM)

It is worth rmembering in the context of this poem that Keats only lived to be 26. He had symptoms of Tb well before his death and the shadow it cast over his life must have been very painful in one so fully 'alive, ' sensitive and creative. I feel from this poem that he feared for the early demise of that creativity and his ability to love and be loved.

    • POEM: A Cloud Withdrew From The Sky by Emily Dickinson (2/16/2009 6:14:00 AM)

The angels keep their ancient places
Turn but a stone and start a wing
'Tis you, 'tis your estanged faces
That miss the many spledoured thing

Frances Thompson's thought accords with this poem - Oh, how we fail to really SEE!

    • POEM: Peace. A Study by Charles Stuart Calverley (10/22/2008 2:53:00 AM)

What an excellent portrait this poem is. The description is brief, pithy and yet gives such a complete picture that it would not be dificult to paint a picture of our tired but quietly yet deliriously happy city clerk: every bit the same in 2008 as in the mid-1800s.
