I really like this one... I lkove the image of a thornless heart and the beautiful hope and belief that surrounds this poem.

as a child (not yet 18) of this world, so full of its cruelties I understand your thoughts and poem and think it illustrates itself beautifully, but I disagree that trust is just an illusion that weakens us, look for beauty and love and that is what you will find, trust all and fight for what you think is right, let people in, you may occasionally get crushed into the ground but perhaps your trust in someone near you will ignite their hope and make them look for the beauty in their world. for every act of hate and cruelty there is one of love and kindness, mankind just tends to focus on the bad things.

also growing up in SA, but form the other side, being white, I am of course aware of the racial separation that still occurs, I was also born in '89 same as you and because of this I dont really remember apartheid to much I just hear the stories of it, do you find the separation is still strong? do you feel judged by your skin colour and did apartheid affect you even at your young age? because I often feel poems about apartheid within me and I often oblige to my thoughts and write them but I was wondering if you had felt the repercusions of it (apartheid) stronger as you were on the opposite side?
