  • POEM: Driving On Auto-Pilot by Paul Hansford (5/8/2010 7:54:00 AM)

Paul, just read this poem - I'm sorry she didn't make a good recovery. I hope the time before her passing was happy for you both.

  • POEM: After The Stroke by Paul Hansford (5/8/2010 7:38:00 AM)

It's quite a while since I went through Poemhunter and read any of your poems - delighted with 'After the Stroke' - it's both moving and funny - exactly the emotions that affect us all in these situations. It is wonderful that you have clearly roused these two very human reactions in this poem. I hope your mum has recovered from the stroke.
Thank you for your comments on my poems - unlike you, I'm not a member of a writing group, so have to wait for the muse to visit me to produce!

  • POEM: Light & Darkness by Joshua Ruiz Melendez (6/5/2009 6:30:00 AM)

Your poems seem to reflect a worry about the struggle of good versus evil; can I quote to you -
'There's so much good in the worst of us, and so much bad in the best of us,
It ill becomes any of us to criticise the rest of us'.

Of the three poems, I like 'Light and Darkness' best, especially 'Those who do not know history are doomed to live it again'. How true.
