    I had no idea you posted this in 2012. I haven't been on here for quite some time, but I didn't think it was that long ago. I had my MS returned the other day have sent it out again. It will probably be Dec or next year before I hear something back.

    You have a typo in the last line.
    (never abandons (its) duty to us all.
    The pronoun is possessive for afterlife.

    You might put a cap on Mortality as the beginning of a sentence. Reversals in the sentence always set me back a bit. (Noun, verb, object of the verb) is the natural flow of the English language; it allows for the rhythm of the language to flow naturally. ('Angle of Death' did take the heir. Mortality is my boy to this world ;) .

    when using repetitions try to change them a bit with punctuation to allow the more meaning. Or change the wording slightly to allow a new thought to enter the poem with the repetition.
