I know that the surface message is innocence, perhaps even unconditional love, but I also saw God or a hint at a higher power nestled inbetween the lines. The last line (or two) evoked for me a rememberance that we are not alone in the world...that we are all in some way universally connected. Another thought is that we adults should take a break from being so serious and imbrace our inner child. Then, maybe, just maybe, we can see life more clearly.

  • POEM: The Future's Request by Lorena Lalen Cruz (8/29/2009 8:16:00 PM)

I love the title. It alone held such promise of something profound or insightful and that is what your poem delivers. Excellent job delivering a difficult but needed message.

  • POEM: Women Are The Best by Hebert Logerie (8/29/2009 7:19:00 PM)

I enjoyed the message/concept of your poem that expresses the consistancy that is 'woman' no matter what culture. I like the inclusion of a woman's emotion side offering an inference that even in these emotional 'stress' moments or spin-outs, it's still part of her beauty or what makes her 'woman.' The lines that seemed out of place and threw me off a bit are the lines that discuss the earth: 'the earth will always be round, no matter what, no matter what sound.' I guess is that the speaker in a metaphorical way is comparing the earth to 'woman' as a means to enhance or continue to convey the constantness that is 'woman' and in that-there the beauty lies. Was that your intent or did I get it totally wrong? Over all I see the poem as a tribute to women...thanks.
