  • POEM: My Form Of The Bible by Kristen Palmitier (5/14/2010 6:20:00 AM)

I like the distinction between being perfect and being human. Unfortunately, our life patterns often reveal that we do repeat our mistakes. In fact, some have said that a good definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, while expecting a different outcome. History does repeat itself. I only hope that we learn sometime in life to be better each day. Great poem! Keep on wriitng!

  • POEM: Life On Depression by Kristen Palmitier (5/14/2010 6:12:00 AM)

Great poem! I like the notion of using 'imagination' to deal with depression. You are right, Kristen, in saying that people use all sorts of things outside of themselves to deal with a problem that is really inside of themselves, viz., their own depression. The answer is not alcohol or other drugs or any of a host of destructive behaviors. As Charles Swindoll says, life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we react to it. Keep on writing!

  • POEM: Life At Its Best by Kristen Palmitier (5/14/2010 6:07:00 AM)

Indeed, change can only come from within oneself. The beauty of free will, and the double-edged sword as well. Because we are free, we have not only the freedom to change but we receive all of the consequences of change, good and bad. You are right in saying, too, that some are 'too busy' trying to change others without first doing their own 'homework' of changing themselves. It may be that in changing myself that I invite others to change themselves as well. Great poem! Deep thoughts! Keep on writing!
