  • POEM: When Faith Elopes by Kurt Philip Behm (3/19/2017 4:58:00 PM)

Although the common usage for the word elope means to wed in secret, the word is also used by the staff of mental hospitals to describe a patient's disappearance. A mental patient on the lam isn't said to have escaped, like a prisoner, but rather to have eloped. I like the imagery - faith has left, but faith was kept inside because it was deemed insane to start with. Otherwise, I don't know what you're suggesting by using the word elope - has faith secretly wed some other virtue in the night? If so, which, and why? But, in the sense of faith being a mental patient, I do like your choice. This is a good verse.

  • POEM: A Dip Into The King's Purse (A Story With A Dory In It) by Neil McGreevy (9/2/2012 3:44:00 PM)

This reminds me of Kipling. Kipling being one of my favorites, consider that a compliment. Good ballad, interesting story, nice twist, nice use of rhyme and meter. Well done!

  • POEM: Toobusywithmyflowersto Believe by Maxwell Searcy (2/8/2011 11:43:00 AM)

Very impressive poem. Not the style I usually appriciate myself, but you're definately doing it right.
