well said! ! ! ! We should all try to remember this :)

  • POEM: Evolving, Constantly Changing (For Jan) by Eric Cockrell (5/6/2012 10:48:00 AM)

I can never complain that nobody reads my poems and/or doesn't give it any deep attention. Thank you Eric for going on this trip too! Your poem is lovely and I am in synch with it. Usually, rocks is as far back as my identication goes, no wait.....rock go even further than the origin of 'living organisms' I guess I should say, I also sometimes feel the rocks as my brothers, and as me.
I love your image of great bent trees.
Also, drops of water clinging to the leaf.

And having a poem in response to an invitation to follow a line of definitely a pleasure. Thank you for going there. I feel a bit less weird. lol

  • POEM: A Buddha, Or... by Eric Cockrell (3/28/2012 11:58:00 AM)

when we ran with the glory of wildness, before we became a civilized mess! Just wanted to say that I liked the way you expressed this, in a review of my poem. About this poem, I really enjoyed this, especially these lines:
    the trees shed their leaves
    for the winter cleansing,
and so we lay our bodies
    down into the earth's embrace!
    o to be ocean,
filling the great chasms of history.
    o to be mountain,
and bridge the earth to the sky.
    o to be wind,
to come and go without restraint.

    Thank you.
