  • POEM: Photographs by Jacqueline C Nash (1/21/2020 3:57:00 PM)

    PH didn't accept my full comment at a time, asked me to write in no more than 300 words. So, I had to break my comment into three segments, against my choice. Sorry about that.

  • POEM: Photographs by Jacqueline C Nash (1/21/2020 3:54:00 PM)

    The last stanza of the poem resonates in me. I would have felt the same way. Particularly liked these two lines:
    'With a sad heart
    and a sense of my own mortality,
    I return them to their box'.
    A sweet poem that touches. Well done, Jacqueline.

    'studio photos of women
    trying to look like film stars;
    all frozen, locked in a moment of time.' - They didn't have digital camera, the same as most of us (of my age) until the late nineties or the early millennium, and so they mostly had to depend on studio photos for a smart copy. Now we can post hundreds of photos on our Facebook pages on a daily basis. They needed time and effort to dress up and make up for a smart photo, that required diligent efforts.
